Travel Guide: Ingolstadt to Innsbruck by Train – Tickets, Costs & Top Attractions
Discover how to travel from Ingolstadt to Innsbruck by train. Ticket options, costs, transport tips, and must-see attractions like Altstadt and Top of Innsbruck.
I left Ingolstadt at 6 AM, taking a regional train to Munich, then from Munich to Kufstein, and finally Kufstein to Innsbruck.
For my journey from Ingolstadt to Munich, I used the Deutschlandticket, which costs €38 per month with the student discount in Germany.
From Kufstein to Innsbruck (and back), I bought a day ticket called “Einfach-Raus-Ticket” on the ÖBB app (Austria’s railway app). It cost €37 and covered my entire trip on ÖBB regional trains (R, REX, CJX, S-Bahn). I highly recommend installing the ÖBB app and buying tickets through it — it’s very convenient since you just show the QR code to the ticket checker. You can also visit via their website.
